Interior Fairs Concepts WOONBEURS IIn 2006 there was a black and white lady in the visuals, very graphic. We called her Joy because the theme of that year’s fair was Enjoy Living. We’ve used Joy for different things (a lampshade, for example). We had this idea to build a house. It had to have a big magazine stall at the entrance. The stall should attract the visitors to the fair where they could receive an interior magazine for free. To give the visitors inspiration, we’ve decorated the house with all kind of materials that they can use to decorate their house with (paint, wallpaper, fabrics and carpet). Everything was kept in black and white except the interior of the house. That was painted in a bright turquoise (the same colour used in the visuals). From the ceiling we hung a selection of new interior products. They were tied to a big circle (the ones normally used for hanging lights) above the entrance. The result was good and clear. WOONBEURS HALLWAY This assignment was given by the Foundation for the Image of Carpet (SIT). So it was a big promotional activity for the carpet industry. The concept behind the carpet hallway was to make everything from carpet. Which was a very nice idea but carpets are difficult to handle. Carpet is quite thick. So I ordered the carpet directly from the factory without the backing. It was much easier to handle now. |
